Team Lead PM/PMO
Team Lead Project Managers / PMO
Vion is a leading Dutch-German meat processing company in transition. The company's strategy gives priority to four themes: food safety, animal welfare, transparency and traceability, and product integrity. The IT organization works together with colleagues from the business on challenging IT solutions that contribute to these strategic objectives.
As the IT project managers’s Team Lead / PMO, you are responsible for improving the performance of our project managers and our IT related projects. You do so by means of coaching the project managers, overseeing proper project governance (prepare and attend Portfolio Boards) and maintaining our project infrastructure and administration. You will also play a role in portfolio management setup and the creation of one Vion approach to project- and portfolio management.
Would you like to be part of a dynamic organization with an ambition to continually improve IT project management success? Are you a seasoned PM or PMO, or both? Then Vion has the job for you.
- HR responsible for our internal project managers (six at the moment)
- Coach and sparring partner for all our project managers (between ten and fifteen)
- Point of contact for all project managers regarding practical matters
- Resource Management for the PM team
- Guide new project managers and business owners in their responsibilities
- Review management products produced by project managers and business owners
- Improve Vion’s project success rate
- Help improve Vion project portfolio management
- Prepare and minute IT Project Portfolio Boards
- Administer the project portfolio.
The three most important characteristics of a successful Team Lead PM / PMO at Vion: self-starter; assertive; pragmatic.
Vion is a dynamic environment, which means that we’re not as structured as we’d like to be, and not all relevant information is readily available. We are looking for people who aren't intimidated by this, but rather: are happy to find their way in spite of that. Assertiveness helps in this: you approach people in an open-minded way, even people you don't know or who don't know you yet; you challenge business peers, even if they have little affinity with IT. And finally, in everything you do for the projects, you are pragmatic, meaning: providing a minimum viable structure for project portfolio management. You enjoy sharing knowledge and people tend to seek your professional opinions.
In order to be successful in this challenging position, you must have completed an HBO education or higher. Preferably in an industrial, business, technical or IT direction. You must have at least seven years work experience as a project manager, or as a Portfolio Management Officer. Certified in Prince2 Practitioner, IPMA-C or similar, and preferably in a well-recognized Portfolio Management method.
You might be an experienced project manager, program manager or PMO who likes to apply this experience in coaching project managers and facilitating project portfolio management. You have experience in or affinity with working in a production company with multiple production locations, and the dynamics that this entails.
You will be working in an international and dynamic environment, so English and either German or Dutch are no problem for you. Your base is The Netherlands or Germany, but you may also occasionally work in Germany or The Netherlands, respectively.
Vion offers plenty of room to develop yourself. The informal atmosphere offers you the opportunity to take your own responsibility and show initiative. Compensation and Benefits are competitive and will be in line with your knowledge and experience. At Vion, the challenges are there for the taking!
